While Mike McCoy is keeping his job as head coach of the San Diego Chargers, Frank Reich is out as offensive coordinator, according to Michael Gehlken of the San Diego Union-Tribune.
Chargers fire offensive coordinator Frank Reich
The Chargers offense finished No. 9 in total offense, but No. 26 in scoring in the 2015 season.

Reich, 54, was promoted to the position in 2014 after joining the team as a quarterbacks coach in 2013. Despite suffering several key injuries during the 2015 season, including the loss of star wide receiver Keenan Allen in Week 8, the Chargers finished No. 9 in total offense. But with all the yards, the team only finished No. 26 in points scored.
Before joining the Chargers, Reich was a wide receivers coach for the Arizona Cardinals in 2012 and coached quarterbacks and wide receivers with the Indianapolis Colts in the three seasons prior. Reich entered the coaching ranks following a 13-year career in the NFL as a quarterback for the Bills, Panthers, Jets and Lions.
Expected to possibly follow Reich out of San Diego is defensive coordinator John Pagano, who is “particularly at risk” of losing his job, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.
The Chargers finished the 2015 season 4-12, their worst mark since 2003, one year before the team added quarterback Philip Rivers in the 2004 NFL Draft.
