The Baltimore Ravens are still over .500, but they’re in a bit of a rut after losing their last two games. John Harbaugh and his team will look to turn things around when they travel on the road to face the New York Giants, who are also on a losing streak.

The Ravens will try to break their losing streak when they face a similarly fading Giants team on the road.
Baltimore’s offense sputtered once again in a 16-10 loss to Washington, and that was the final straw for offensive coordinator Marc Trestman, who got fired after the loss. Quarterbacks coach Marty Mornhinweg got promoted to take Trestman’s spot, and he’ll be charged with trying to improve a running game that’s been stuck in neutral for most of the season.
Terrance West did a fine job in Week 5, rushing for 95 yards on 11 carries. However, he took a backseat in the second half as Joe Flacco struggled, throwing for just 210 yards on 46 attempts and averaging only 4.5 yards per attempt. At 3-2, the Ravens are in a decent spot, but they’re in danger of falling behind the Pittsburgh Steelers in the AFC North race. They need to figure out a way to jumpstart their offense if they’re going to return to playoff relevance after a disappointing 5-11 finish last year.
The Giants are on a disappointing three-game losing streak, making their promising 2-0 start a distant memory already. Their latest loss was a 23-16 letdown against the Green Bay Packers last Sunday night, and the team is in a real gut-check moment at 2-3. They now sit dead last in the NFC East, with the Dallas Cowboys (4-1), Philadelphia Eagles (3-1), and Washington (3-2) all threatening to run away from New York.
Eli Manning has had some struggles this year that all came to a head in Week 5. He was flat-out terrible, completing just 18 of 35 passes for 199 yards, an average of only 5.6 yards per attempt. The running game did him no favors -- Bobby Rainey, Orleans Darkwa, and Paul Perkins combined for 42 yards on 14 carries -- but Manning has to start playing better if the Giants want to get out of this hole in which they dug themselves.
Getting Odell Beckham Jr. going would be a good start for New York. Beckham is getting more attention for his emotional outbursts than his play on the field this year, and he had another inefficient game last week, catching just five of 12 targets. The good news is that he finally scored a touchdown and made up with the kicking net, so maybe all is not lost for the Giants’ young star receiver.
However, the Giants’ offensive line continues to be a sieve. Manning was sacked three times last week and is getting almost no time to throw. In addition, left tackle Ereck Flowers had a locker room confrontation with an ESPN reporter after the game. He apologized for the incident, but it became an unwelcome distraction for a team that’s struggling to right the ship this year. The Giants are in danger of a full-blown implosion if they drop to 2-4, so this is as must-win a game as any can be this early in the season.
