It seems what the Seattle Seahawks really needed was a hapless San Francisco 49ers team to beat down to finally find their legs on offense. Russell Wilson and the rest of the offense looked great in their 37-18 Week 3 victory and they should be plenty confident going into Sunday’s game against the New York Jets.

Russell Wilson is hobbled but should be good to go against the Jets.
Sunday’s game is set for 1 p.m. ET and will be broadcast on television via FOX. A live stream online will be available via FOX Sports GO, but only if the game is being served to your local market. An online Sunday Ticket subscription will also work.
The health of Wilson is a major concern (as is the decision-making of both Wilson and head coach Pete Carroll) after he was hit multiple times and had his already-injured knee bent awkwardly against the 49ers. Despite the Seahawks being up by three-plus scores, Wilson stayed in the game, took a big hit and an awkward landing on his knee, and only missed a single play before returning to the game.
Wilson is still less than 100 percent, but he is expected to play against the Jets. It seems odd that the Seahawks would let Wilson continue to play, even if he really wanted to, while injured early on in a very tough season. Week 3 is hardly the time to play injured players, especially when you’re winning big already.
The Jets don’t do a ton of things right and are 1-2 on the season, but they do boast some of the hardest-hitting defensive players in the league. Getting to Wilson will be their top task on the day, and if they can do that, they might just be able to put themselves in a position to win on Sunday.
New York fell to the Cincinnati Bengals in a close game in Week 1, won a close game against the Buffalo Bills in Week 2, and then were dominated by the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 3. It’s been an up-and-down season thus far, and with tough games against the Pittsburgh Steelers, Arizona Cardinals and Baltimore Ravens in each of the next three weeks, it’s not getting any easier.
The Jets have been better than their record would indicate, however. They rank 15th in the league in total defense and 10th in the league in total offense, ranking in the top half in both stats. Seattle, in contrast, is ranked 18th in the league in total offense.
But that’s never been the strength of the Seahawks. Their strength is on defense, and they are ranked top of the league through three weeks. They are some of the best, hardest-hitting players on that side of the ball. Led by Richard Sherman, Earl Thomas and Bobby Wagner, the Jets’ offense will have its hands full on Sunday.
