Denver Broncos quarterback Trevor Siemian left the team's game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Sunday with a left shoulder injury. Siemian exited the game near the end of the first half and was carted off the field to the locker room.

Siemian sustained an injury to his non-throwing shoulder.

Shortly after he left for the locker room, the Broncos announced his return as questionable with a left shoulder injury, which would indicate his non-throwing arm. Rookie Paxton Lynch came into the game to replace Siemian. Siemian went down hard on a play, being slammed to the ground by the Buccaneers defender.
At the time of his injury, Siemian had completed 5 of 7 passes for 68 yards and a touchdown. The Broncos led the Buccaneers by a score of 14-7.
Siemian was named the starting quarterback this offseason, beating out Lynch, a first-round pick, and Mark Sanchez. A seventh-round pick by the Broncos last year, Siemian is coming off his best game to date, throwing four touchdowns and for 312 yards against the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 3.
The Broncos ultimately elected to part ways with Sanchez, leaving Lynch as Siemian’s primary backup.
