NFL picks 2016, Week 8: Is this the week the Browns get their 1st win?

The Vikings and Patriots are expected to win, but we have a few outliers on what otherwise would have been unanimous selections.

Last week, the San Diego Chargers proved everybody wrong, taking down the Atlanta Falcons in overtime and handing all of our experts losses. The New England Patriots, Denver Broncos, and Green Bay Packers all held their ends of the bargain, though, giving our entire panel wins.

The most unlikely scenario unfolded on Sunday night, when the Seahawks and Cardinals tied, putting that rare third column in our records.

For the most part this week, our panel is in agreement in a lot of places across the board, with a few experts deviating from the rest. The Seahawks over the Saints would have been unanimous, but Tyler Tynes is taking Drew Brees and New Orleans to bounce back from their loss to the Chiefs.

The Lions over the Texans would have been a sweep as well, if Fooch hadn't gone against the grain and picked the Texans. Adam Stites is taking the Jacksonville Jaguars over the Tennessee Titans on Thursday night in an AFC South showdown. Louis Bien is the only one who had confidence in Washington on the road against the Cincinnati Bengals this week, and the Colts against the Chiefs at home.

The New York Jets and the Cleveland Browns are competing in what we might call the Poop Emoji Bowl. Neither team has given its fan base anything to cheer for this year, although five of our panelists are picking the Browns to win their first game this season. It would be a nice way to wrap up what could be a great week for Cleveland, with the Indians in the World Series.

The Cardinals and Panthers are playing this week, a rematch of last season’s NFC Championship. You wouldn’t have known it the way the teams have looked this season, and our panel is pretty split on the matter. The Cardinals are 3-3-1 on the season, while the Panthers are sitting near the bottom of the league at 1-5.

We’re also somewhat divided on a heated NFC East rivalry. Both the Eagles and Cowboys are thriving with rookie quarterbacks, but most of us think Dak Prescott will lead Dallas to a win on Sunday night.

That game is a good one to remind you that we allow our panel of experts to change their picks for up to two games because of factors like a player’s injury status. Changes to our picks have to be made by Friday, so check back then for any updates.

And as always, the OddsShark computer can be found here.

Enough talking about our picks, though. Let’s show you:
