The Jaguars STILL won’t fire incompetent Gus Bradley

Bradley has Jeff Fisher-esque job security for some reason.

Jim Brown-USA TODAY Sports

The Titans annihilated the Jaguars and probably should've gotten Gus Bradley fired. Tennessee dominated the lifeless Jaguars to take a 27-0 score to halftime and cruise to victory in the second half. The Jags didn't just lose, they got embarrassed. You know, embarrassing might not even be strong enough a word for it. And all this came against Mike Mularkey, who they fired right before hiring Bradley.

The biggest surprise about the whole affair is that Shad Khan says there will be no Jaguars coaching change. The Jaguars owner said after the game that he had no plans to fire the head coach who is now 14-41 after four and a half seasons with the Jags. HOW? WHY?

Bradley should be fired immediately because someone has to be held responsible. Sure, a coaching change in Week 8 probably isn’t going to make a big difference on the field, but there’s a larger issue of accountability here. He’s approaching Jeff Fisher-like levels of job security for no good reason, except unlike Fisher, Bradley doesn’t run the personnel side of things and his team actually has a lot of talent at every position. Bradley’s had more than enough chances. They have to let him go now.

The state of NFL coaching overall is bad. Really bad.

ALIVE IN TENNESSEE: The Titans are alive in the AFC South. A 4-4 record after eight weeks of play isn’t a bad first half of the season at all for the Titans. They’re very much in the thick of the division race.

MURRAY LOOKS GREAT: DeMarco Murray had a huge night. Murray ran for 123 yards and a touchdown on Thursday. He’s already topped his production from 15 games in Philly.

LOOSEN UP, NFL: The NFL should learn how to have fun from the NBA. The NFL should take a page from the NBA and let players be themselves without fear of a fine or flag.

SAVING THE BEST FOR LAST: The Patriots are “holding back” play calling for “higher-stakes parts of the season.” The Patriots are intentionally playing with one hand behind their back.

LEWIS RETURNS: Dion Lewis has returned to practice. The Patriots running back is close to a return.

LANDRY FINED FOR WILLIAMS HIT: Jarvis Landry fined $24,000 for his hit on Aaron Williams. Landry was flagged for unnecessary roughness on play. Williams will decide on his future in the NFL after the season. The father of Bills safety Aaron Williams said his son plans to wait until after the season to determine whether to continue playing after suffering his latest neck injury.

WHAT HAPPENED TO GURLEY? Why can’t the Rams run the ball? The Rams can’t move the ball on the ground. Why is that so, and can they fix it?

TERRIBLE OFFENSIVE LINE DECISIONS: The Seahawks’ new starting left tackle hasn’t started a football game since Pee Wee league. The new Seahawks left tackle never played offensive tackle in his life before this year.
