Josh Norman was helped off field against Ravens, but returned in second quarter

Washington’s prized free agent signing left the field and limped to the locker room in the first quarter.

The Washington secondary was already playing without three of its four starters. Cornerback Josh Norman briefly made it a perfect 4-for-4 after leaving Sunday’s game against the Baltimore Ravens with an apparent injury.

Norman left the mid-Atlantic showdown after stopping Breshad Perriman on a third-and-11 play. The 2015 All-Pro landed hard on his right side bringing down the Baltimore receiver and remained on the field before trainers helped him to his feet. He left the sideline soon afterward to be examined in the locker room.

He returned to the field in the second quarter with his right wrist taped up.

The dynamic defender was Washington’s biggest acquisition this past offseason. Norman developed from an FCS standout into a bona fide NFL star after four seasons in Carolina, but became a free agent after the Panthers rescinded their franchise tag on the 28-year-old cornerback. Washington swooped in, as is Dan Snyder’s custom, with a huge contract and signed the Pro Bowler to a five-year, $75 million pact.
