Through four-plus years of his NFL career, no other receiver has been able to match Julio Jones’ incredible start with the Atlanta Falcons. He had another huge game against the Eagles in Week 10, finishing with 10 receptions for 135 yards, although it wasn't enough for a Falcons win.
Julio Jones made history against the Eagles, but it wasn’t enough for a Falcons win
We’ve never seen anyone like him before.

In 75 games, the All-Pro wideout has gained 7,306 receiving yards and tallied 34 100-yard receiving games — the most in either category for any pass catcher since the 1970 AFL/NFL merger. You’d have to give Jerry Rice and Randy Moss an extra 10 games until Jones’s unparalleled yardage could be matched.
When asked about the accomplishment, Jones smiled.
“I did all right,” he said.
He kept that momentum moving forward against a Philadelphia Eagles secondary holding opponents to just 216 passing yards per game in 2016. Some opponents have had success against Jones this fall — New Orleans, Denver, and Green Bay all held him to three receptions or fewer — but many more have failed. In Atlanta’s 10 games, Jones has topped 100 yards six times.
That included an explosive 12-catch, 300-yard performance against the defending NFC Champions at the start of October. Jones gashed the Carolina Panthers so hard they cut one of their starting cornerbacks less than a week later.
The Eagles have faced three of the NFL’s top receivers so far this season. Here’s how they’ve done:
| Player | REC | YDS | AVG | TD | LONG | TARGETS |
| Antonio Brown | 12 | 140 | 11.7 | 0 | 20 | 18 |
| Marvin Jones | 4 | 37 | 9.3 | 1 | 17 | 5 |
| Odell Beckham Jr. | 4 | 46 | 11.5 | 2 | 26 | 10 |
Jones looked more like Antonio Brown than Marvin Jones on Sunday.
