Johnny Manziel tentatively reached a deal with prosecutors Thursday that will have his misdemeanor assault case dismissed, according to the Associated Press.
Johnny Manziel reaches tentative deal to dismiss domestic assault charges
Manziel was charged with misdemeanor assault for an incident that occurred in January, but the charges could be dismissed soon.

A hearing for Manziel was scheduled for Thursday, but postponed until Dec. 1, according to Rebecca Lopez of WFAA in Dallas, who said the judge ordered all parties must be present on that day.
Word of a plea deal first leaked in late June when Bob Hinton, an associate defense attorney for Manziel, accidentally sent a text to the Associated Press that appeared to indicate he was worried about his client’s ability to stay clean if an agreement in the case was reached. A spokesman for Manziel denied that his legal team was seeking a plea deal, and Hinton later withdrew from the case.
Lead counsel Jim Darnell has said from beginning that he would not have Manziel plead guilty - his position has not changed.

Manziel’s father told ESPN his son was a “druggie” earlier this summer and said he hopes his son goes to jail.
