Marshawn Lynch returned to the Seahawks. Too bad he was just visiting.

Maybe a little sprinkling of Beast Mode aura will be just the thing Seattle’s terrible offense needs to break out of its rut.

Joe Nicholson-USA TODAY Sports

The Seahawks offense is not very good right now. They could only muster 20 points in a loss to the Saints and their real life imitation of a defense (their only touchdown was a defensive score). The week before that they had six points in a tie with the Cardinals. Russell Wilson hasn’t scored a touchdown, rushing or passing, in over a month.

So what’s the problem? Maybe the problem is Darrell Bevell, the offensive coordinator. Field Gulls dives deeper into the struggles he’s had without the combination of Marshawn Lynch and Russell Wilson on the field at the same time. Maybe he should be the next offensive coordinator to get fired. Another issue might be Christine Michael forced into a full-time role, something that’s not a fit for his skill set.

The was good news this week for the Seahawks offense: Marshawn Lynch was back! The retired running back Marshawn visited the locker room. How's he been? "Smooth." Perhaps the moral support of having him in the locker room for a day will be enough.
