The anticipated battle between rookie Dak Prescott and a healthy Tony Romo is over before it ever started. Owners of the best record in football, the 8-1 Dallas Cowboys will play host to the Baltimore Ravens with Prescott under center and Romo on the sidelines.
Ravens vs. Cowboys: Start time, TV schedule for Week 11 matchup
It’s Dak Prescott’s time for the Cowboys, and he’ll try to lead the team to its ninth win against the Ravens on Sunday.
Sunday’s matchup will be among the early slate, with kickoff set for 1 p.m. ET from AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas. The game will be broadcast on television in the United States by CBS, with the only live streaming option available via an online subscription of Sunday Ticket.
Romo ceded the quarterback job to Prescott, and now the question is whether the veteran will be around next year or if he'll go somewhere else. What's clear is that it's Prescott's time in Dallas and he has the team in a great position two-thirds of the way through the season. The schedule from here on out isn't that tough, with a rematch against the only team that has beaten him so far -- the New York Giants -- plus other divisional matchups.
Baltimore, at 5-4, may be the toughest team left on Dallas's schedule. The Ravens control their own destiny in the AFC North, but the race will likely go down to the wire. They still have two games against the rival Cincinnati Bengals and a rematch against the Pittsburgh Steelers on the horizon.
There are more potential pitfalls for the Ravens than there are for the Cowboys. Baltimore will also face the New England Patriots and the Philadelphia Eagles before their season is up. The Ravens are riding a two-game winning streak, a welcome sign after they went on a four-game skid. But they still need wins, and they need them fast.
Beating the Cowboys is something that many great teams have failed to do this season.
Cowboys rookie running back Ezekiel Elliott leads the league in rushing with 1,005 yards. He's well ahead of the next player, DeMarco Murray of the Tennessee Titans, who has 930 yards. Elliott and Prescott make for an amazing team, especially with wide receiver Dez Bryant thrown into the mix.
They will face a Ravens team that ranks first in yards allowed on defense, highlighted by the league’s fourth-ranked pass defense and first-ranked rush defense. The Ravens have allowed just 642 rushing yards all season, so yards may be hard to come by for Elliott. Baltimore also ranks third in the league in points allowed at 17.8 per game.
John Harbaugh’s defense is playing at its best, though the offense is struggling to keep up. Baltimore has been on the losing and winning end of some narrow games this season.
