Washington vs. Cowboys: Time, TV schedule for Thanksgiving football

Dak Prescott and the Cowboys will try to be the first team to move into double-digit wins on Thursday when they face Washington.

It's just as everybody predicted before the start of the season: The NFC East is the best division in football and the best of the best are the Dallas Cowboys, led by rookie quarterback Dak Prescott and rookie running back Ezekiel Elliott. The Cowboys are an anomaly this season, and thinking back to just a couple seasons ago when head coach Jason Garrett seemed on the "likely to be fired" list pretty firmly is hard to do while they're playing so well.

Washington is still in the picture in the division, along with the New York Giants and even the fourth-place Philadelphia Eagles. Jay Gruden's team is more likely competing for a wild card spot, though it could significantly improve its chances on all ends if Washington can manage to beat the Cowboys in their featured Thanksgiving afternoon matchup.

Their game will kick off at 4:30 p.m. ET from AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas. The game will be broadcast by FOX, with a live stream available online via FOX Sports GO. Watching online will require login credentials from a cable or satellite provider.

Dallas has won nine consecutive games, a streak that started in Week 2 when it beat Washington, 27-23. Prescott completed 22 of 30 passes for 292 yards in that game, while Elliott had 21 carries for 83 yards and a touchdown. Kirk Cousins threw for 364 yards and a touchdown for Washington, but he also had an intereption and they got just 61 yards out of running back Matt Jones.

The only team that has beaten the Cowboys this season is the Giants, all the way back in Week 1. They will rematch the Giants and also still play the Eagles, so a lot can still happen in the NFC East. The Cowboys are well in control, but with tough games against the Minnesota Vikings and Detroit Lions also still on the schedule, they have a lot of work ahead of them.

Washington has won its last two games, and has plenty of tough games still on the schedule as well, including rematches with the whole NFC East and games against the Arizona Cardinals and Carolina Panthers, teams that can be incredibly good when playing up to their potential. Washington last lost to the Lions, and played to a tie in London with the Cincinnati Bengals before going on its current winning streak.

Cousins has been really good for Washington this season. He's completed 67.2 percent of his passes for 3,091 yards, 17 touchdowns, and seven interceptions. The team has run the ball well overall, with both Matt Jones and Robert Kelley rushing for 400-plus yards. Kelley, aka "Fat Rob," has come on strong the past couple weeks and is now the starting running back.

Prescott has completed 67.7 percent of his passes for 2,640 yards with 17 touchdowns, and two interceptions for the Cowboys. Finally, Elliott is still leading the NFL with 1,102 yards and nine touchdowns on the ground.
