Vikings kicker doinked in a field goal, and the Chiefs kicker was a big fan

DOINK.

A field goal is a field goal, no matter how it’s achieved. Even when it’s a doink.

The Vikings scored this way against the Cowboys on Thursday night.

Here it is from another angle:

We appreciate this doink. So did the Chiefs’ kicker.

Probably because the same thing happened to the Chiefs during Monday night’s game — only that time it broke an overtime tie to carry them over the Broncos.

Glorious.

Because of the rising volume of doinks, one of my coworkers suggested the NFL change the rule so teams earn one extra point for each upright hit. Just something to think about.
