2017 NFL Draft order: Browns, 49ers, and Jaguars keep things steady with losses

The 49ers blew a fourth-quarter lead and lost in overtime to fall to 1-12.

Unless the Cleveland Browns find a way to earn a win in the last three weeks of the season, the team will own the No. 1 pick in the 2017 NFL Draft.

The top pick still isn’t comfortably in Cleveland’s control, though, after the San Francisco 49ers lost a 12th consecutive game Sunday. Despite carrying a 17-6 lead over the New York Jets into the fourth quarter, the 49ers lost in overtime and stayed within striking distance of the Browns.

Cleveland reportedly already has a favorite for the No. 1 pick, but could get two cracks at the top 10 thanks to a three-game losing streak for the Philadelphia Eagles. With a loss to Washington, the Eagles fell to 5-8 and are currently slated to pick 10th. However, the selection was traded to the Browns prior to the 2016 NFL Draft so Philadelphia could select Carson Wentz.

With three weeks left to play, the No. 1 pick is a two-team race with the Jacksonville Jaguars, Chicago Bears, and Los Angeles Rams rounding out the top five.

(Be sure to check out this week’s mock draft).
