Ravens vs. Patriots: Start time, live TV schedule for ‘Monday Night Football’

The Ravens and Joe Flacco have played well against the Patriots in the past, but Tom Brady is looking nearly unbeatable this season.

The New England Patriots will try to take one more step toward the playoffs when they play host to the Baltimore Ravens on Monday Night Football for Week 14. New England, at 10-2, is atop the AFC East and firmly entrenched there. The Ravens are 7-5 and can stay on top of the AFC North with a win.

Monday’s game is set for 8:30 p.m. ET and will be broadcast, as usual, on ESPN. A live stream will be available online via WatchESPN, though it will require login credentials from a cable or satellite provider in the United States.

The Ravens are in a much more tenuous position than the Patriots. They are trying to remain ahead of the Pittsburgh Steelers in the division, and came into Week 14 with matching 7-5 records. Baltimore won the first meeting between the two teams and it will face Pittsburgh again after it plays New England.

Winning now is much better than winning later, so Joe Flacco will give it his all against the Patriots — something he has historically done. Flacco is 3-5 against the Tom Brady-led Patriots, but he has thrown 16 touchdowns against eight interceptions and sports a passer rating of 91.3 against them.

Brady, on the other hand, has struggled against the Ravens overall. He’s led his team to more wins, of course, but he’s thrown 10 touchdowns and 10 interceptions against the Ravens with Flacco at the helm. He has also lost a pair of fumbles.

Then again, Brady just last week posted win No. 201 for his career, the most all time of any quarterback. The Patriots are 7-1 under Brady this season and he looks like he hasn’t aged a day in all his years in the NFL. Yeah, Brady will be fine.

Flacco, as it turns out, may be fine as well. The Ravens have received plenty of flak for giving Flacco a massive contract extension despite his actual stats being pedestrian. But he’s still played well enough to have them in the playoff hunt and he’s coming off a four-touchdown performance against the Miami Dolphins.

This season, Brady has thrown 19 touchdowns against just one interception. He’s incredibly accurate, and has completed 68.9 percent of his passes. Flacco, who usually struggles to break a 60 completion percentage, is actually doing well there as well, completing 64.6 percent of his passes for 3,258 yards on the season.

The issue comes from his 11 interceptions against 15 touchdowns. Flacco isn’t careful with the ball, and the Ravens routinely suffer for it. They have the top-ranked defense in the league, but can’t always make up for Flacco’s poor decision-making in the pocket.

The absence of a consistent running game has also hurt Baltimore. Terrance West leads the team with just 650 yards and five touchdowns, and sports just a 4 yards per carry average. LeGarrette Blount is the lead back for the Patriots, with 957 yards, 13 touchdowns, and a 4.2 yards per carry average.
