Richard Sherman was right. The Seahawks’ 24-3 win over the Rams on Thursday night wasn’t much of a football game, but it as the season’s penultimate Thursday Night Football game it was most definitely a “poopfest.”
Seahawks vs. Rams was the crappiest Thursday night ‘poopfest’ all season
Terrible trick plays, dumb penalties and three head/neck injuries. Richard Sherman was right about Thursday Night Football, and Seattle’s 24-3 win this week proved it.

TURDS
The Seahawks tried a trick play in the first quarter that ended with Doug Baldwin falling on his butt.
Pete Carroll used all three challenge flags on spots in the first 17½ minutes of the game.
Sherman didn’t want the Seahawks to pass from the 1-yard line AGAIN, so he yelled at the coaches.
The Rams’ loss under interim head coach John Fassel gives mid-season interims a 7-9 record over the last 10 years. Jeff Fisher approves.
INJURIES
The shittiest part of Thursday’s poopfest were the injuries, serious ones. There were two concussions and a third player evaluated for one.
Rams QB Jared Goff left in the fourth quarter after a hit from Richard Sherman, evaluated for a concussion.
Seattle punter John Ryan had to be taken to the hospital for his concussion.
Michael Bennett was evaluated for a concussion, but Pete Carroll said it was a neck injury instead.
You can’t necessarily link three head/neck injuries to this being a Thursday night game, but it does fit with Sherman’s complaint that these midweek affairs are sloppier than the usual NFL game AND that players just aren’t recovered enough from playing on Sunday to play again on a short week.
NON-POOP HIGHLIGHTS
Bennett was also flagged for gyrating too much after a sack.
When he wasn’t busy throwing touchdown passes, Russell Wilson stopped to tie teammate Thomas Rawls’ shoes in the middle of the field.
Rams defensive tackle didn’t like a penalty call against him, so he threw his flag back at the refereee.
Seahawks wore the best Color Rush uniforms yet. These all-green uniforms are clean.
FANTASY FIGHT
Todd Gurley invites fan who threatened to fight him over fantasy football to “pull up.” Gurley does not care about your fantasy team.
MO ALEXANDER’S AMAZING JOURNEY
Maurice Alexander went from cleaning the Rams’ stadium to part of the team’s roster. Even a GPS couldn’t navigate this path to the league.

WALKIE TALKIES
Giants under investigation by NFL for Ben McAdoo’s walkie-talkie use vs. Cowboys. New York resorted to a walkie-talkie when Eli Manning’s headset malfunctioned during Sunday night’s win over the Cowboys.
