Adam Thielen has developed a reputation as one of the toughest wide receivers in the league. He earned it on Sunday after absorbing a monster hit from Indianapolis Colts’ defensive back Darius Butler.

Thielen eventually walked off the field under his own power.

Thielen broke downfield for a potential 20+ yard pickup, but was quickly separated from the ball by a fast-closing Butler. The Minnesota Vikings’ wideout was checked on the field by team trainers, but eventually walked off under his own power.
The team announced later he wouldn’t return to the game.
The Vikings were able to slide into Colts territory after a 15-yard unnecessary roughness penalty on the play, but couldn’t convert the field position into points. Sam Bradford was strip-sacked by Robert Mathis four plays later to end any scoring threat and preserve the Colts’ 27-0 third-quarter lead.
