Michigan newspaper says Lions ‘roped by’ Cowboys after their loss to Giants

Oops!

Nothing scares newspaper publications than a headline error. Michael Myers could come into the room brandishing a machete, and everyone would still be focused on the incorrect headline. Who in the right mind screwed this one up?

No, the Detroit Lions were not “roped” by the Dallas Cowboys in Week 15. These two teams do not play until Week 16. Detroit lost to the New York Giants, 17-6, in Week 15, though. And the Cowboys beat the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, 26-20.

But you have to give these publications credit. Some how, some way, those headlines could be correct after next Monday night. You probably feel like Biff when he found the sports almanac in Back to the Future 2, right?

Well, the only difference is that the outcomes in the almanac actually happened. Don’t bet on the Cowboys just because a couple of publications couldn’t write an ACCURATE headline.
