Despite a 24-19 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles on Thursday Night Football, the New York Giants have clinched a berth in the 2017 NFL playoffs this weekend. Thanks to a Tampa Bay Buccaneers loss to the New Orleans Saints.
Giants clinch spot in 2017 NFL playoffs
The NFC East officially has two teams in the playoffs.

At 10-5, New York has had its best season in years under first-year head coach Ben McAdoo. The NFC East is one of the league’s toughest divisions, but the Giants helped themselves by winning games within and outside of the division.
Two of those victories came against the Dallas Cowboys, who staked their claim as the league’s best team with an 11-game winning streak this fall. The Giants are still the only team to beat the Cowboys this season.
While New York has been inconsistent on offense and defense this season, it still found ways to win close games.
After a slow start, Manning has put together a good season, throwing for 3,847 yards and 26 touchdowns. Odell Beckham Jr. has hauled in 96 catches for 1,323 yards and 10 touchdowns.
Now that the Giants are in the playoffs for the first time since they won Super Bowl XLVI, they must continue to play great defense and create turnovers. On the other hand, the offense has to be more consistent and score more points.
Manning is a lethal quarterback in the postseason, so the Giants should be fine. However, New York has to gain traction on the ground to take some of the pressure off its star signal caller.
