The Philadelphia Eagles locked down safety Malcolm Jenkins through the 2020 season on Monday, inking the former first-round pick to a five-year contract, the team announced.
Eagles re-sign Malcolm Jenkins to 4-year extension worth $35M
Jenkins earned Pro Bowl honors for the first time in his career in 2015.

The deal adds four more years to the three-year, $15.5 million contract Jenkins signed in 2014 and will up his salary from $5.5 million to $10 million in 2016, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network. The final four years of Jenkins’ contract are scheduled to net the safety $35 million and the deal includes $21 million in guarantees.
Jenkins, 28, was a first-round pick of the New Orleans Saints in the 2009 NFL Draft, but left after five seasons and joined the Eagles in free agency. The 2015 season was the best of his career and he earned Pro Bowl honors for the first time after finishing the year with two interceptions and three forced fumbles.
One of those interceptions was returned 99 yards for a touchdown in a surprising win against the New England Patriots that featured Jenkins making Tom Brady look silly in an attempt to make a tackle:
Jenkins quickly emerged as a leader for the Eagles after signing and was the leader in tackles each of the last two years with starts in all 32 games.
The Eagles have been active in retaining their own players since firing Chip Kelly, and have already announced new deals for Vinny Curry, Lane Johnson and Zach Ertz.
