Buffalo Bills running back LeSean McCoy was reportedly involved in a fight that included three off-duty Philadelphia police officers on Sunday morning, according to WPVI-TV News in Philadelphia. Two of the officers were hospitalized as a result of the incident, which occurred around 2:30 a.m. on Sunday at the Recess Lounge in Philadelphia.

McCoy and former NFL running back Curtis Brinkley were both involved in a "physical altercation" with the three officers. McCoy and Brinkley weren't arrested, but they are the focus of the investigation and a police report was made when the incident took place, according to the report.

On Monday, ESPN’s Mike Rodak tweeted a statement from Philadelphia police about the incident which said four suspects were involved in an altercation that sent two complainants to the hospital. The police obtained video of the altercation, as did TMZ.

“We believe the man in the red boxers who gets pulled into the ice bucket is LeSean McCoy,” a police source told TMZ.

The report states that the fight was started due to a dispute over the ownership of a bottle of champagne.

The Bills have released an official statement on the matter, but it’s short and simply says they are aware of the reports and are “gathering more information.”

McCoy has ties to the Philadelphia area as he used to play for the Philadelphia Eagles, the team that drafted him in the second round in 2009. McCoy spent six seasons with the Eagles before being traded to the Bills this offseason. He had 895 yards and three touchdowns in 12 games with the Bills in the regular season.
