Kansas City Chiefs safety Eric Berry will be sticking around for at least another year. Right at the March 1 deadline, the Chiefs placed the franchise tag on him to keep with the team. Berry, who was diagnosed with and beat Hodgkin's lymphoma before his triumphant return to the football field in 2015, was named the NFL Comeback Player of the Year.

Berry is a leader on the Kansas City defense, and after what he has gone through, the Chiefs are still likely to reach a long-term deal with him before the July 15 deadline for franchise-tagged players. If they don’t, Berry will earn $10.81 million under the tag in 2016.
Berry has consistently been one of the top safeties since the Chiefs drafted him with the fifth overall pick of the 2010 NFL Draft. Berry played in just six games in 2014 due to his condition, but he came back with a vengeance and played in all 16 games this past year. He put up 61 tackles and intercepted two passes.
Berry has been named to four Pro Bowls in his short NFL career and has been named a first-team All-Pro twice. He earned both honors this past season.
