Ravens CB Tray Walker in critical condition after motorcycle crash

Walker wasn’t wearing a helmet when he collided with an SUV on Thursday night.

Eric Hartline-USA TODAY Sports

Baltimore Ravens cornerback Tray Walker suffered serious head trauma in a motorcycle accident that left him in critical condition in a Miami hospital, the team announced on Thursday.

“Oh my God,” Ravens head coach John Harbaugh said in a brief statement. “This is devastating news. Our prayers and hopes are with Tray and his family tonight.”

Walker, 23, was a fifth-round pick in the 2015 NFL Draft and spent most of his rookie season contributing on special teams. He played in eight games and finished the year with a tackle. Walker played collegiately at Texas Southern and was the highest player drafted from the university in more than two decades.

A Miami-Dade police department detective said in a statement that Walker was riding a dirt bike without lights and did not have a helmet on when he collided with an SUV on Thursday night, according to ABC-10 in Miami. The station also reports that police are looking for a New England Patriots player they believe was a witness to the accident
