Baltimore Ravens outside linebacker Terrell Suggs was arrested early Friday morning in Scottsdale, Ariz. and released with a citation, according to TMZ.

Suggs, 33, was reportedly at a Scottsdale bar at the time of the arrest and has made the Ravens aware of the incident. The team released a brief statement on Friday saying it is aware of the situation and “looking into it.” Scottsdale law enforcement confirmed to TMZ that Suggs was booked at 2:03 a.m. before he was released at 3:21 a.m.

Later on Friday morning, Suggs said on Instagram that it was a suspended license that led to his arrest:

He released a statement shortly thereafter through publicist Denise White of EAG Sports Management:

“This morning Terrell Suggs was in a single-car collision, no one was injured,” the statement read. “Police were called and upon speaking with Terrell, found his license to be suspended for speeding tickets. He was detained by the police and released a couple hours later. Terrell will let the judicial system take its course and fix his license issues.”

Earlier in the week, another Arizona State alum, Houston Texans wide receiver Jaelen Strong, was arrested in Scottsdale on marijuana possession charges.

Suggs is a six-time Pro Bowler with the Ravens with 106.5 career sacks, the 24th most all-time. He tore his Achilles tendon in the first game of the 2015 season, but announced that he will return for another season when he is scheduled to make $4.5 million.
