Another running back is off the market as Ronnie Hillman has signed a one-year deal to remain with the Denver Broncos, according to Mike Klis of 9news. Hillman was a third-round draft pick by the Broncos in 2012 and worked his way into a starting role over the past two seasons.
Broncos reportedly signing Ronnie Hillman to 1-year deal
Hillman led the Broncos last season in rushing yards, carries and rushing touchdowns.

Hillman, 24, is coming off his most productive campaign yet. He led the Broncos with 863 rushing yards and seven touchdowns on 207 carries, starting 11 of 16 games. Hillman and C.J. Anderson mostly shared the backfield duties in Denver, though Hillman posted the less impressive numbers of the duo and struggled down the stretch.
He plateaued in the postseason, rushing for a meager 54 yards on 32 attempts (1.7 yards per rush) during Denver's Super Bowl run.
The former San Diego State star has flashed some promising talent during his four NFL seasons, but lacks the consistency to be considered a bona fide starting-caliber runner. Only twice in his career has he surpassed the 20-carry mark in a game and last season was the first time he suited up for all 16 games. Although he’s still young with time to develop, he’s probably most useful as a depth piece and change-of-pace back.
