At noon, the third and final day of the NFL Draft begins. Although it lasts nearly all day, going into the early evening hours, Day 3 is typically the least interesting for fans. The players selected range from lesser known to totally anonymous -- the last one chosen is affectionately known as Mr. Irrelevant -- and few project to make much of an instant impact. However, the final day of the draft is just as important as the two that preceded it. Not only do teams find key depth for their rosters in rounds four through seven, but they also occasionally find true superstars.

Day 3 is typically for depth, but there are always some players who turn into stars drafted in the later rounds. Tom Brady and Richard Sherman, anyone?
The Seattle Seahawks have a title contending team thanks in part to prospects taken on the final day of the draft. Two members of last year's starting secondary -- Richard Sherman and Kam Chancellor -- were selected after the start of the fourth round. They are All-Pros and arguably the best at their positions.
However, the most famous Day 3 draft story is that of future Hall of Famer and four-time Super Bowl champion Tom Brady. An unheralded quarterback out of Michigan, Brady was selected with the 199th overall pick in the 2000 NFL Draft. One year later, he led the New England Patriots to their first championship and has since won multiple rings.
So what available players could follow in those footsteps in 2016? Perhaps the biggest name still on the board is quarterback Connor Cook. Despite a successful career at Michigan State, Cook has fallen farther than many people expected, with lesser-touted quarterback prospects like Cody Kessler and Jacoby Brissett going ahead of him. Other notable names still available include Dak Prescott, Andrew Billings, Cardale Jones and Joshua Perry.
Teams are allotted five minutes for each pick in the fourth through the sixth rounds, and then four minutes for each pick in the final round. Unlike earlier rounds, teams often make their selection before the clock nears zero.
