Atlanta's Mercedes-Benz Stadium is set to open on June 1, 2017. The Falcons have announced some big changes fans can expect in the new stadium -- namely that they won't be paying exorbitant prices for hot dogs and popcorn and peanuts. The Falcons will even offer fans $5 Bud America Light on draft.
The Falcons’ cheap food prices are good, but here’s how the concessions can be even better
There’s always room for improvement, Atlanta, and we have some ideas for you.

“What you’ll see is very unique pricing, and the pricing is going to say thank you to our fans for being supportive,” Falcons owner Arthur Blank said.
It’s a pretty good deal for fans, who are undoubtedly going to be paying a lot for tickets and parking in the first place, so perhaps the Falcons’ plan to lessen the financial pain of buying food to enjoy at the stadium will help.
The concessions pricing, which is collectively the cheapest in major sports, will be consistent for all events that may be held at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium, including the NCAA Final Four, the College Football Playoff and National Championship.
What’s missing from this whole plan, though, is a way for the Falcons to really own this whole cheap concessions thing and make it unique to the team. We have some ideas on how they can make that happen.
First of all, with Peyton Manning retired and out of the picture, there's an opportunity for a new Papa John's spokesman.
This focus on improving the fan experience in the concessions realm also presents an opportunity for the Falcons to come up with some team-themed menu items. Surely, fans would welcome the idea of making these menu items regionally appropriate, and what’s more southern than fried chicken with all the fixings? Not much.
The Falcons are also giving fans a little more room in the new stadium. Seats in the Georgia Dome are currently 19 inches wide, and seats in most sections in the Mercedes-Benz stadium will be 21 inches wide. That extra space in each seat might be necessary considering how cheap the food is.
