Marshawn Lynch marches to the beat of his own drum, so Seattle Seahawks cornerback Richard Sherman knows it's not worth it to try and predict what the five-time Pro Bowl running back has planned. He's hopeful that those plans include a return to play for the Seahawks, though.
Richard Sherman is holding out hope Marshawn Lynch comes back from retirement
Marshawn Lynch is “as predictable as a pair of dice,” according to Richard Sherman.

On Saturday, Sherman traveled to Mechanicsville, Va. to visit a youth football camp put on by his former teammate Michael Robinson. In an interview for NFL.com, Sherman said he wouldn't rule out a return from Lynch.
“I don’t put anything past him,” Sherman told Robinson. “He’s about as predictable as a pair of dice. So I don’t try to call his plays. But obviously, it’s going to be different. We got a little sample of it last year ... I think we’re prepared for it in some aspects, but you really never want to be prepared for that. You really would hope he comes back. In the back of your mind, you hope he comes back and plays another year.”
Lynch, 30, announced his retirement during the fourth quarter of the Super Bowl with a photo of cleats hanging from a wire. But according to Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk, Lynch still hadn’t filed retirement papers as of May 12.
Instead, Lynch has spent the last few months riding camels in Egypt and dominating children in ping pong in Oakland, as part of his many charitable endeavors. He’s spent the last decade confounding people with his wonderful and strange behavior, so it’s not too surprising that his former teammates don’t know what’s next for “Beast Mode.”
Sherman’s not the only Seahawks player who thinks that the return of Lynch is still a possibility. Defensive end Michael Bennett told Bob Condotta of the Seattle Times he doesn’t think the running back has much desire to return immediately, but could change his mind.
“I think he’s done,” Bennett told Condotta. “He might make an appearance later on but I think he’s done for right now. He’s played a lot of football, done a lot of great things on the field. I think he’s really focused on his community work.... I want him to play again, but we’ll see.”
Lynch has 9,112 career rushing yards with 74 rushing touchdowns, but dealt with a hernia in 2015 that required surgery to repair.
