New Bills linebacker Eric Striker makes rookie mistake by criticizing Buffalo wings

“I’ve tasted a great chicken wing ... how much better could it be here?”

Trevor Ruszkowski-USA TODAY Sports

Now that the 2016 NFL Draft is in the books, the rookie class has to wait until the fall to win over fans with their play. But they can still earn some brownie points right away by showing off their personalities.

What not to do: Insult the food your new city is famous for.

New Buffalo Bills linebacker Eric Striker is a Florida native who played for the Oklahoma Sooners. He doesn't get what the big deal is about Buffalo wings.

You can hear the gasps from the media along with a “watch it” warning after Striker says he’s tasted great chicken wings before and asks, “How much better could it be here?” But he pays no mind and continues to walk directly into the fire, much to the horror of the media watching.

“I mean, what else can you do to a chicken wing?” Oh no, Eric.

With #BillsMafia ready to pounce, veteran offensive lineman Richie Incognito promised to educate the rookie on Buffalo’s most famous food.

Striker could take a lesson from Kansas City Chiefs second-round draft pick Chris Jones, who wasted no time stroking the ego of Kansas City, a city that takes plenty of pride in its famous barbecue. Via Parrish Alford of the Northeast Mississippi Daily Journal:

There are a few things rookie should avoid. Do not criticize deep dish pizza if you’re on the Chicago Bears, do not have a problem with cheesesteaks if you’re drafted by the Philadelphia Eagles and definitely do not question Buffalo wings if you’re signed by the Buffalo Bills.
