Next up in the Philadelphia Eagles’ quest to re-sign all their top players, defensive end Fletcher Cox was given a six-year extension reportedly worth $103 million, according to Adam Schefter of ESPN. The deal reportedly includes $63 million guaranteed, the highest guarantee for a non-quarterback in league history. Cox is only 25 years old and is fresh off his first Pro Bowl appearance.
Fletcher Cox agrees to 6-year, $103 million extension with Eagles
Another one locked up for the Philadelphia Eagles.

The Eagles announced the signing on Monday night.
Cox, drafted by the Eagles in 2012, is coming off his best season yet, with 71 combined total tackles (50 solo), 9.5 sacks and two passes defended. He’s played a lot of snaps to earn those numbers, having played in all 16 games each season since 2013.
This will make the defensive end one of the top-paid at his position in the league. He’ll be just a few million behind Ndamukong Suh, whose six-year $114 million deal with the Dolphins also has $60 million guaranteed. Both Marcell Dareus and Gerald McCoy have deals worth over $95 million.
The Eagles will also adopt a new defense under new coordinator Jim Schwartz, who has confirmed changing to a 4-3 scheme. Cox has the potential to be even more successful with this change away from Chip Kelly’s 3-4 defense.
Under new head coach Doug Pederson and with Howie Roseman back in control of personnel, the team is launching a campaign to keep players who have been Eagles since draft day -- first Zach Ertz, then Brent Celek and Lane Johnson.
