Baltimore Ravens wide receiver Breshad Perriman will not miss the 2016 season, according to Pro Football Talk, after fears that he suffered a torn ACL in offseason workouts. Perriman, 22, suffered a knee injury last week during OTAs, but will "be fine for the season" after undergoing a stem-cell injection that will allow him to get back on track toward making his NFL debut in the fall.

Perriman missed his entire rookie season with an injury to his other knee, but he’ll “be fine” for 2016 after a scare.
Perriman sustained a PCL sprain in his right knee on the first day of training camp as a rookie and was eventually placed on injured reserve. The Central Florida star was considered a potentially game-breaking receiver with his speed and athleticism, and the Ravens have needed help in that area for some time.
That help is much needed as the next option for the Ravens is 37-year-old Steve Smith. In addition to Perriman and Smith, Mike Wallace and Kamar Aiken will be competing for snaps.
On Monday, Dr. James Anderson examined Perriman, and a scope was scheduled for Tuesday to repair the tear and determine the extent of the damage, according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport. The scope determined that surgical repair is not necessary, and Perriman will be able to play in 2016.
Perriman isn’t guaranteed to come in and become the top receiver, but this latest news is definitely good for the Ravens. He finished his college career with 115 catches for 2,243 yards and 16 touchdowns.
Perriman’s draft stock rose quickly when he ran two sub-4.3-second 40-yard dashes at UCF’s Pro Day. He didn’t participate in the NFL Combine due to a hamstring injury, but the 40 time made most consider him a for-sure first-round pick.
Missing out on his rookie season due to injury was difficult for Perriman.
“I’ve been through a lot this offseason, but it’s just making me stronger again and just learning to keep faith and pray a lot more,” Perriman said last month. “It’s been rough. It is still rough from time to time, but I’m steadily getting through it, pushing through it and keeping faith.”
Last season, Aiken led the Ravens with 75 receptions for 944 yards and five touchdowns. Smith had 46 catches for 670 yards and three touchdowns before he sustained a season-ending Achilles injury.
