Concussions are a serious problem for players in the NFL, and it seems as seasons go on more and more players have stories about suffering and playing through concussions. That includes Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers, who said he once lost vision in his left eye and the only thing he could see was a silver metallic.
Aaron Rodgers says he once lost vision in his left eye after suffering a concussion

Rodgers’ second concussion produced different but equally troubling results. He said he temporarily blacked out on the field after a big hit. When he came to, the referee asked him if he was OK. Rodgers said he instinctively replied that he was fine, even though he doesn’t remember doing so. He briefly stayed in the game, waving off medical attention, but was unable to even comprehend what play he was calling.
“The only thing I remember about that sequence is I was under center and I didn’t know if it was a run or a pass,” Rodgers said.
As troubling as those stories are, hundreds of NFL players could probably tell similar or worse tales. Rodgers even talked about all the NFL does to try and help players, but as he and Bill Simmons concluded, there is only so much you can do in a sport that requires athletes to run full speed into each other over and over.
