The Eagles extended ageless Darren Sproles

He’s apparently the one player in the league who is not on the PUP list. Plus, teams are chasing Nick Foles, a movie recommendation and lots more!

Bill Streicher-USA TODAY Sports

EAGLES EXTEND SPROLES: Darren Sproles, Eagles agree on contract extension. It’s a one-year deal worth $4.5 million that locks up Sproles through next season.

IS EVERYONE HURT? Training camps are just starting up and there’s A LOT of players on the PUP list. Stephen White and I discuss that and lots, lots more on the new podcast.

GO SEE GLEASON: Gleason is a story of family, love and triumph despite ALS. The film is about Steve Gleason, the former NFL player, and so much more. The movie opens today in limited release, and you should definitely see it.

SUPER BOWL HANGOVER: The Broncos are determined to avoid the Super Bowl hangover. After a tumultuous offseason, the Super Bowl champions go into their title defense with one massive question mark at quarterback but a whole lot of commitment to fight complacency.

CHASING FOLES: The Bills are interested in Nick Foles. Buffalo could use an upgrade at backup QB. The Vikings and Cowboys are reportedly interested in Foles too.

TAKING JABS AT CHIP KELLY: Jason Peters criticizes Chip Kelly practices compared to Doug Pederson. The Eagles lineman says Kelly’s locker room wasn’t a very happy place for veteran players.

JETS HAVE QUESTIONS TO ANSWER: Ryan Fitzpatrick is back. Let the Jets’ soul searching begin. The Jets’ quarterback question has been answered. Now, they have to figure out what caused last year’s collapse with the playoffs on the line.

TOGETHER AGAIN: Colts’ Grigson, Pagano overcome their differences. Everyone is happy in Indy. The Colts brain trust was at odds last year, but they’ve mended fences — so they say — and are working together to take Andrew Luck and Co. back to the postseason

FLOYD WILL BE FINE: Bears rookie Leonard Floyd carted off the practice field. It’s always scary when the cart comes out to take a player off the field, but for the Bears’ first-round pick it was just an illness as opposed to anything threatening his season.

QB BATTLES: NFL quarterback battles are a farce. The outcome of most training camp quarterback competitions are predetermined. If they’re not, that team is in real trouble.

SMART TEAM EXTENDS SMART COACH: The Vikings aren’t letting Mike Zimmer get away. Relax, they didn’t lock him in the basement or anything, they gave him a contract extension. And it’s a really smart move. Zimmer’s one of those guys who should’ve had a head coaching gig years ago. Teams like the Browns, Bucs and Titans all could’ve hired him at one point. Whoops!

MEXICO CITY LOVES THE NFL: Raiders vs Texans en Mexico agotaron en poco tiempo (sold out in minutes). Thursday the NFL put put the remaining tickets for the Raiders vs Texans game on Nov. 21 in Mexico City. And they went fast. Really fast.

BELL KNEW ABOUT MISSED TESTS IN MARCH: Le’Veon Bell apologizes for being a distraction. Other than that he didn’t have much to say, other than admitting he knew about the missed tests back in March.

IT HAPPENS: Vikings backup QB out after getting injured trying to break into his house. He is now expected to miss three months.

BIG BET: Brandon Marshall challenges Antonio Brown to outplay him or give him his Rolls Royce. This should be a fun sideshow to watch.
