Seahawks vs. Chiefs 2016 live stream: Time, TV schedule and how to watch NFL preseason online

The Seattle Seahawks have been one of the top teams in the league since Pete Carroll took over and began a miraculous turnaround. Russell Wilson has given them a franchise quarterback, and a secondary centered around Richard Sherman and Earl Thomas essentially guarantees they will be better than most teams.

On the other hand, the Kansas City Chiefs have enjoyed surprisingly strong play in recent years. Three years ago, Andy Reid went out and acquired Alex Smith, a quarterback who struggled at best in his time with the San Francisco 49ers. But Smith has been reliable at worst and above average at best, and it’s been enough to have the Chiefs flirting with the other league’s top teams.

But going into the first game of the preseason, it’s unclear which starters will play from both sides. For the Seahawks, the offensive line will be a point of focus in every single preseason game. Unfortunately, J’Marcus Webb, the big question mark at the right tackle spot, isn’t expected to play at all due to a knee injury. But the first game should tell us a lot about Germain Ifedi, who is expected to make his debut at right guard.

For the Chiefs, Reid has said that the starters should play about one series, but it really depends how things go. Once Smith’s day is over, the newest member of the team will take over. Nick Foles, who signed with the Chiefs earlier this month after he was cut by the Los Angeles Rams, will likely get the most time at quarterback. Seeing how the Chiefs’ backup quarterback position shakes out is one of the more interesting aspects of the Chiefs’ preseason. And it’s not just watching how Foles performs, either -- the depth chart also includes Tyler Bray, Aaron Murray and Kevin Hogan.

Other than those questions, this should be a fairly straightforward preseason game. Both teams are going to play “some” starters, both teams aren’t likely to play those starters for very long, and both teams are just going to try and escape without suffering any serious injuries.
