The Rams played their first game back in Los Angeles after 21 seasons looking a lot like the 4-12 team that last played there in 1994. It was an especially rough debut for Jared Goff.
Jared Goff’s NFL debut was overshadowed by Dak Prescott
Welcome to the NFL, kid!

The first pick in the draft got into the game in the second quarter. On his second play behind a porous Rams line, he got drilled by a pass rusher and tossed an interception.

As Jeff Fisher would say, that’s “some 7-9 shit.”
At least Goff was in good company. The much-ballyhooed Rams defense, the starters, sat back and watched Cowboys backup Dak Prescott go 8-for-9 with 122 yards and two touchdowns. Those numbers don’t show you the dimes Prescott was dropping to his receivers, like this TD throw to Dez Bryant.
Wow.
Prescott was a fourth-round pick, the 135th player taken in the draft. The Rams traded two first-round picks, two second-round picks and two third-round picks for Goff.
Sure, it’s only the preseason, but, nah, I’m sure Jeff Fisher, a 21-year NFL head coach, can develop a rookie quarterback. Everything should be fine.
