The Cowboys might be good again, with or without Tony Romo

Enough that the annual Tony Romo injury scare isn’t as scary as it used to be.

THE ZEKE & DAK SHOW: Ezekiel Elliott and Dak Prescott stole the show. Even with the Romo injury scare, there was plenty for Cowboys fans to like about this game.

HOSTAGE SITUATION IN VEGAS: Las Vegas stadium investors want $750 million in public money for the Raiders, or else. Las Vegas is fairly new to the business of being a potential host for professional football, but the group that's trying to bring the Raiders there is already employing a good old-fashioned NFL shakedown.

Mark Davis files trademark for Las Vegas Raiders. Gotta cover all the bases, right?

First Raiders Las Vegas stadium renderings have very familiar look about them. Great moments in recycled blueprints.

ROGER'S INNER CIRCLE: Roger Goodell is getting his very own committee. The "chairman's committee" is a group of owners who will apparently serve as advisors for Goodell. It's the same group of owners who are usually advising him anyway, staunch Goodell allies like Rooney, Mara, McNair, Hunt and Kraft.

BRADY'S BACK: Friday's preseason game is probably the last time you'll see Tom Brady until October. Brady is expected to make his preseason debut against the Panthers on Friday.

PATRIOTS TRADE: The Browns sent Barkevious Mingo to the Patriots for a fifth-round pick. Here's why they did it.

FLIP PHONE: Andrew Luck still uses a flip phone, but this one’s new .

WATT'S RETURN: J.J. Watt might return to practice next week. That's good news for the Texans.

ROMO GOT HURT: Tony Romo injured his back after three plays and Cowboys wisely refused to let him play through it. The preseason is not the time for heroics.

WILSON DEALING: Russell Wilson looked sharp in dress rehearsal victory. The Seattle Seahawks beat the Dallas Cowboys 27-17 in the third preseason game of 2016. Wilson played into the second half, completing 16-of-21 passes for 192 yards, two touchdowns and no picks. Best of all, his offensive line didn't get him killed.

JULIO INJURED: Julio Jones injured his ankle, but seems to be OK. First-round pick Keanu Neal also suffered an injury, but expects to be ready for Week 1.

RISE UP: Good news Falcons fans, you've got plenty to grumble about! It was a lousy preseason effort for the Falcons, but thankfully it was just a preseason effort.

SUH INJURY SCARE: Ndamukong Suh wrecked shop, until he hurt his ankle. The Dolphins defensive tackle manhandled the Falcons' interior offensive line, until he had to leave the game with an injury to his left ankle. Head coach Adam Gase said after the game that Suh would be fine.

HE’S BACK! Touchdown! Arian Foster! Hey, I recognize that guy!

CHARGERS WANT YOUR MONEY: Dean Spanos makes his case for a new Chargers stadium. Can taxpayers demand offset language and deferred payments?

POWER MOVE: NFL expected to clear Clay Matthews, Julius Peppers of PED allegations. The Packers’ top pass rushers appear to be in the clear regarding PED allegations made by Al Jazeera. This was nothing more than a petty move by the NFL to show the players who's boss.

VISOR ISSUES: Colin Kaepernick thinks he can wear tinted visor Friday, NFL says not without approval. San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick has been wearing a tinted visor in practice, and on Wednesday he said he expects to wear it on Friday against the Green Bay Packers. However, there...
