A Week 2 game started on a scary note when New Orleans Saints cornerback P.J. Williams was strapped down and carted off the field following an injury suffered in the first quarter against the New York Giants.

Saints cornerback P.J. Williams absorbed two knees to the head on a first-quarter play.
Williams, 23, absorbed two knees to the head on one play and players on the field immediately recognized the seriousness of the injury, frantically waving for medical personnel to help.
The second-year cornerback didn’t appear to move at all, but was conscious and speaking with trainers before he was carted to the locker room.
Williams was a third-round pick in the 2015 NFL Draft out of Florida State. After spending his entire rookie season on injured reserve with a hamstring injury, Williams returned to make his NFL debut as a starter for the Saints in Week 1 against the Oakland Raiders.
Shortly after he was carted off the field, the Saints announced that he was being evaluated in the locker room for a concussion. It was later said on the FOX broadcast that Williams lost consciousness on the field, but moving his finger and toes. He is currently being treated at a New York hospital where his spine is being evaluated.
