Eagles vs. Bears 2016, NFL picks and predictions: Experts favor 0-1 Chicago to earn 1st win

The Eagles and Bears will face off on Monday night in Week 2.

James Lang-USA TODAY Sports

Did Carson Wentz and the Philadelphia Eagles catch the Cleveland Browns by surprise in Week 1? It's possible, as the rookie quarterback looked fantastic -- better than anybody expected -- in Philadelphia's dominant 29-10 Week 1 game. If the element of surprise is what he had going for him, he likely won't have it in Week 2 against the Chicago Bears.

Chicago and Philadelphia will face off under the bright lights of Monday Night Football at 8:30 p.m. ET. The game will be broadcast on television via ESPN, with a live stream online available at WatchESPN for those with access.

The Bears are coming off a rough Week 1 performance where they fell to Brock Osweiler and the Houston Texans. Jay Cutler threw for one touchdown and an interception while Jeremy Langford rushed for a touchdown, but only 57 yards on 17 carries. They allowed Osweiler to throw for a pair of touchdowns and looked unprepared.

Wentz threw for 278 yards and a pair of touchdowns with no interceptions in Philadelphia’s win over Cleveland. The Eagles also ran for 133 yards as a team to support their rookie quarterback. Despite the 1-0 vs. 0-1 record and the fact that the Eagles looked better last week, most experts tend to think the Bears will win on Monday.

As far as experts are concerned, many are picking the Bears. Over at CBS Sports, six of the eight experts think Chicago will win, leaving only two picking Philadelphia. At ESPN, five of the nine experts pick the Bears will win, while four pick the Eagles.

Here at SB Nation, it’s a similar spread:

Of the nine experts picking with SB Nation, six think the Bears will win, with the other three picking Philadelphia. The OddsShark computer also went with the Bears. Monday’s game is set for 8:30 p.m. ET on ESPN, and online via WatchESPN.
