Seahawks vs. Jets, NFL picks and predictions 2016: Experts split between Seattle and New York

Russell Wilson’s health is the biggest concern for a Seahawks team heading into an East Coast road game.

The Seattle Seahawks may be 2-1, but they have a lot of question marks heading into an early road game against the New York Jets. The biggest talking point will be the health of Russell Wilson, who is now battling injuries on both his legs.

Wilson was already battling a sprained ankle he suffered in Week 1 when he hurt the knee on his other leg against the San Francisco 49ers. Wilson ended up with a sprained MCL, which is frankly good news after he awkwardly bent his leg while getting tackled by a 49ers defender. Although he’s practicing in full this week, Wilson’s mobility will be severely hampered. Fortunately, the Seahawks’ offense finally got back on track, with Jimmy Graham healthy and Christine Michael blossoming as the starting running back.

The Jets fell to 1-2 after an all-time disastrous performance from Ryan Fitzpatrick, who threw six interceptions against the Kansas City Chiefs. In addition, the Jets have injury questions of their own -- Eric Decker is dealing with a shoulder injury and Darrelle Revis hurt his ankle in practice this week. This game could end up being a battle of attrition.

With so many key injuries on both sides, there isn’t a strong favorite in this one. Four of five ESPN experts who turned in their picks are going with Seattle, but the Jets are a 6-2 favorite over at CBS Sports. Here at SB Nation, it’s a dead-even split -- five writers are picking Seattle, while four and the OddsShark computer pick New York. The game is at 1 p.m. ET on Fox.
