The last time the Packers and Cowboys met, Dak Prescott and Ezekiel Elliott were well on their way to becoming rookie sensations and Green Bay was starting to look a bit fraudulent.
Packers vs. Cowboys 2017 picks and predictions: Experts side with Dallas at home
In a matchup between the NFL’s hottest team and the NFC’s best, experts are taking the Cowboys to win on Sunday.
Things have certainly changed since the Week 6 matchup that Dallas won handily, 30-16. It now welcomes a re-energized group of Packers to AT&T Stadium on Sunday in a Divisional round game between the NFC’s hottest and most dominant teams.
Kickoff is at 4:40 ET on FOX.
Green Bay is riding a seven-game win streak that has launched Aaron Rodgers back into the MVP conversation. During that stretch, he’s thrown for 2,029 yards and 19 touchdowns, while the Packers have outscored their opponents 223-125.
Wideout Jordy Nelson is dealing with broken ribs, but hasn’t been ruled out for Sunday. Even if Rodgers does get him on the field, there’s certainly a question of how much Nelson can do.
Still, anything should help against a Cowboys team fresh off a first-round bye and looking to prove it can win in the postseason. Dallas went 2-2 in its last four games, but the team was trying to conserve players down the stretch for the games that mattered most.
With one of the best rushing attacks in the league and a number of options for Prescott to throw to, a little time to heal may only make the Cowboys more dangerous going into their first playoff game this year.
Despite that, experts are still torn on who will come away with the victory. At ESPN, there’s a heavy majority going with Dallas. CBS writers are leaning the opposite way, with five of eight experts taking Green Bay.
At SB Nation, our staff leaned heavily toward the Cowboys, with seven of nine picks for Dallas.
