The East-West Shrine Game has seen some of football’s best players since starting operations as the first college all-star game back in 1925. Kellen Winslow, Merlin Olsen, Gale Sayers, and Joe Greene are all part of the game’s storied history.
East-West Shrine Game 2017 rosters: Ejuan Price, Zach Terrell get 1 more chance to impress
Some recognizable names dot the rosters of college football’s oldest all-star game.

Two rosters full of NFL hopefuls will try to keep that tradition alive in 2017 when they suit up for the 92nd East-West Shrine Game on Saturday.
Last year’s game produced four top-100 picks in the 2016 NFL Draft, headlined by New England Patriots guard Joe Thuney. This year’s game will feature some big-time prospects on a redemption path (Gunner Kiel, Wes Lunt), small-school standouts looking to make their mark (Karel Hamilton, Avery Moss), and even a handful of Canadian players intent on crossing the border to chase their dreams.
The biggest NFL draft prospect may be Pittsburgh edge rusher Ejuan Price, who will be looking to show his 5’11 stature won’t handicap him in the pros. Price recorded 23 tackles for loss last season, all while wearing some of the shortest pants the game has to offer. A dominant performance against an all-star offensive line would cement his status as a Day 2 pick.
Louisiana Tech safety Xavier Woods, who may or may not be proficient with a trombone, has the skills and measurables to be an NFL safety. He was a first-team All-Conference USA selection this fall who needs to prove his record holds up against stronger competition.
Wisconsin tailback Dare Ogunbowale has played in the shadow of elite backs like Melvin Gordon and Corey Clement during his four years in Madison, but averaged 5.6 yards per carry this fall and could make the most of an opportunity at the next level. However, he could be overshadowed once again: Middle Tennessee tailback I’Tavius Mathers ran for more than 1,500 yards in 2016.
Zach Terrell, the quarterback who led Western Michigan to a 13-1 record this fall, leads an intriguing group of passers. He tops an West depth chart that includes big-armed QBs Kiel and Lunt. On the East roster, Penn standout Alek Torgersen will try to prove his game transcends the Ivy League.
