When the Atlanta Falcons face off against the New England Patriots on Super Bowl Sunday, Tony Bennett will be featured on a 10-second video to lead into Lady Gaga’s halftime show performance.

Bennett and Lady Gaga may seem like an unlikely duo, but the two have collaborated in the past. The pair initially teamed up to record a version of “The Lady is a Tramp” for Bennett’s 2011 album Duets II. Bennett and Gaga released an album of jazz duets in 2014 entitled Cheek to Cheek, which earned a Grammy win for Best Traditional Pop Album.

Lady Gaga is a contemporary pop powerhouse, but she is also a classically trained musician. She and Bennett met in 2011 when she performed Nat King Cole’s “Orange-Colored Sky” at the Robin Hood Foundation gala in New York City. Bennett was impressed with her performance, and the two became “fast friends” after that, according to Gaga.

“We were fast friends — friends ever since [our first meeting],” Gaga told People Magazine in September.

At this point, the expectation is no other artists will be joining Gaga for the halftime show. Earlier reports suggested there would be no other performers, aside from backup dancers, participating in the show.

“I’ve been planning this since I was 4, so I know exactly what I’m going to do,” Gaga said recently via Pepsi, the sponsor of the halftime show. “For me, it’s all about giving to the fans and bringing people together that wouldn’t normally come together.”

Bennett and Gaga seem to be a great example of that.
