With a 27-14 loss to the Houston Texans, the Oakland Raiders will head into the 2017 offseason still looking to add the pieces necessary to find a postseason victory. They haven’t won in the playoffs since their run to Super Bowl XXXVII in January 2003.
NFL Draft 2017 order: Offseason begins for eliminated wild card teams
For the first time in five years, the Raiders don’t have a draft pick in the top half of the first round.

For the Detroit Lions, a 26-6 loss to the Seattle Seahawks means an even longer drought is extended. The last postseason victory for Detroit came 25 years ago, and the Lions need more help to break that streak.
For the Raiders, it will be the first time since the 2012 NFL Draft that the team is set to pick in the bottom half of the first round.
Tweaks in the offseason won’t need to be much for Oakland, though. The Raiders led the NFL in Pro Bowlers during the 2016 season with seven, but the season ultimately unraveled due to injuries. Specifically, the team couldn’t handle the loss of quarterback Derek Carr, who had a huge season before suffering a leg fracture.
The Miami Dolphins and New York Giants joined the group of eliminated teams Sunday. The Dolphins fell 30-12 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers, while the Giants’ season ended with a 38-13 loss to the Green Bay Packers.
