Giants safety Leon Hall delivered the punishing blow in the second quarter. The pass-separating tackle left Nelson crumpled on the Green Bay sideline, where he was later carted off the field and into the locker room.
Nelson took the clean hit to his ribs and hip, and lay prone on the sideline while team trainers attended to him. Though his return was initially listed as questionable, the team later reported he would not return.
Nelson spent Sunday night in the hospital, and Packers coach Mike McCarthy told reporters early on Monday that Nelson still has a shot to suit up against the Cowboys on Sunday.
Luckily for the Packers, Randall Cobb and Davante Adams did more than enough for the Packers to come away with a big 38-13 win. Adams had 125 yards and a touchdown, while Cobb had 116 yards and three touchdowns, including one amazing Hail Mary from the hand of Aaron Rodgers.
