Ty Montgomery had to be helped off the field early in the fourth quarter of Sunday’s Giants-Packers game after being twisted to the ground by New York’s Jonathan Casillas. He missed several plays before returning to the field with approximately four minutes left in a Green Bay blowout.
Packers’ Ty Montgomery returns to the field after suffering an apparent lower-body injury
The Packers running back missed a series after getting twisted to the ground, then returned late in the game.

Casillas wrapped up Montgomery and wrenched the elusive back to the ground, causing him to lose the ball in the process. Unfortunately for New York, officials ruled the Green Bay back’s forward progress had been halted before the fumble.
Montgomery limped off the field with each arm around a member of the team’s training staff. He was brought to the bench, where team officials examined his lower right leg.
The wide receiver-turned-tailback had been ineffective to that point, gaining only 25 yards on 10 carries. Despite an inefficient running game, Green Bay led New York, 24-13, with 11:31 left in the fourth quarter.
