With 22 points per game, the Seahawks are entirely mediocre when it comes to scoring offense. On Sunday, they downgraded all the way to “horrible” after rattling off 10 straight plays inside the Giants’ 11-yard line -- and coming away with zero points.
Seahawks ran 10 plays inside the Giants’ 11-yard line and scored 0 points
An impressive display of red zone futility from Seattle.

Roughing the passer and defensive pass interference penalties granted Seattle a pair of extra lives as the first quarter morphed into the second, but the Seahawks’ eight minute, 43 second drive ended fruitlessly when Russell Wilson’s fourth-and-goal pass from the 1 slid through tight end Jimmy Graham’s hands and bounced to the turf.
Even head coach Pete Carroll was shocked that the All-Pro tight end he’d paid dearly to acquire would choke on fourth down.
Seattle walked away from the drive having pinned the Giants deep in their own territory, and appeared to have capitalized after forcing a three-and-out. The Seahawks started their next drive at their own 41-yard line, then promptly gave up any advantage they’d gained when Thomas Rawls fumbled on the first carry of the drive. All in all, an impressive disaster from the reigning NFC West champs — and one that doesn’t seem to be ending anytime soon for Graham.
What this means for Seattle: The Seahawks trail a 1-5 Giants team 7-0 midway through the second quarter. After the Rams won earlier in the afternoon, Seattle needs a win to keep pace in the divisional race. Whiffing on 11 straight red zone plays won’t get it there.
What this means for New York: Another massive defensive stand — even after shooting themselves in the feet multiple times — could be just what the Giants need to spur their first winning streak of 2017.
