This adorable Saints baby was furious Ted Ginn tried to give him a football

This is how a baseball fan is made.

After scoring on a 36-yard touchdown pass to give his Saints a 30-3 lead, Ted Ginn jumped into the stands at the Superdome to give one lucky fan a souvenir to cherish. Except his intended target, a baby donning New Orleans black and gold, wasn’t having any of it.

This good Saints baby was immediately skeptical of Ginn’s act of kindness, ducking away from the new, leathery brother that had been thrust into his father’s (or uncle, or some other sort of guardian) hands.

In fairness, that’s a lot of excitement for a child that already had to deal with all sorts of new lights and sounds with zero Peppa Pigs around to provide support. His (or her) reaction soonafter belied that of a person bound to grow up a baseball fan.

Fortunately for his Saints-fan caretakers, he eventually came around to this whole “football” thing.

And finally moved beyond begrudging acceptance into something that looks like happiness.

Skeptical Saints football baby is an excellent case study in terms of how to properly react to Ginn. New Orleans has had a similar reaction after signing him away from Carolina and watching him develop into one of the league’s top deep threats at age 32. The Dolphins, on the other hand, pretty much played out that process in reverse after drafting him ninth overall back in 2007.
