The Packers beat the Lions at Ford Field a year ago, giving them the win in the NFC North and sending them to the playoffs. But the division isn’t on the line Monday, as both teams have had their struggles this season.
The Packers are 4-3, and looked like a contender at first... until they lost quarterback Aaron Rodgers to a broken collarbone. Since Rodgers went down, the Packers have lost their past two games, falling to the rival Minnesota Vikings and the New Orleans Saints. Prior to that, they had won three straight games.
Brett Hundley, in relief of Rodgers, has completed 31 of 59 passes for 244 yards, a touchdown and four interceptions. He’s completed just 52.5 percent of his passes and has been sacked five times. To contrast, Rodgers had completed 66.3 percent of his passes and had 13 touchdowns against just three interceptions.
Detroit has also hit a rough patch, and have lost three consecutive games. The games against the Carolina Panthers and Pittsburgh Steelers were close, but they allowed 52 points against the Saints in their second-to-last game.

Lions vs. Packers news:
- Lions rookie receiver Kenny Golladay missed four straight practice sessions and it seems unlikely he will play on Sunday Monday against the Packers.
- The Lions are favored over the Packers, and that’s just the second time in 15 years that has actually happened.
- Ameer Abdullah is a player that the folks at Pride of Detroit would like to see more, especially as a three-down back. He could be a factor on Monday.
- Aaron Rodgers is out with a broken collarbone. The Packers tried to sign former San Francisco 49ers quarterback Brian Hoyer, but were unsuccessful, as he joined the New England Patriots.
- A shoulder injury has crept up for tight end Martellus Bennett, so that’s the primary non-Rodgers injury concern for the Packers at the moment.

Of the eight SB Nation experts picking in Week 9, seven of them think the Lions will beat the Packers, and they’re joined by the OddsShark Computer. That leaves just one picking the Packers to win without Aaron Rodgers.
