It’s Week 15, which means it’s time for the always-confusing Thursday Night Football on Saturday. Because branding is the most important thing, it’s probably never going to be called Saturday Night Football, but either way, the day will feature two games. The second of those is between the Los Angeles Chargers and Kansas City Chiefs, beginning at 8:25 p.m. ET on the NFL Network (live streaming).
Chargers vs. Chiefs 2017: Time, TV schedule for Saturday night football
The Chiefs will play the Chargers in an AFC West showdown on Saturday. We have all you need to know to watch it.

The AFC West is tied at 7-6, with the Chiefs holding the edge thanks to a 3-1 mark in the division, including a win over the Chargers in Week 3 of the season. The Chargers have the momentum with four consecutive wins, while the Chiefs shook off a huge losing skid in their last outing, a 26-15 win over the rival Oakland Raiders.
Prior to that game, the Chiefs had lost four straight and six of their past seven. That was after starting the season with five consecutive wins. It’s been a weird season, but they are still well within the playoff hunt. The Chargers are the toughest team remaining on their schedule, and they already beat Los Angeles on the road.
In that first game, Alex Smith completed 16 of 21 passes for 155 yards and a pair of touchdowns while being sacked five times. Philip Rivers had an abysmal game for Los Angeles, completing 20 of 40 passes for 237 yards and three interceptions while being sacked twice.
The Chiefs also rushed for 189 yards as a team in that game.
The Chargers haven’t beat the best teams on their winning streak, but they have looked good. They’re coming off a win over Washington, and they also beat the Cleveland Browns, Dallas Cowboys and Buffalo Bills, a team they scored 54 points on.

Chargers vs. Chiefs news:
- The Chiefs and Chargers are battling for the AFC West and, as it turns out, they have the same odds of winning the division, as noted by Arrowhead Pride.
- Kansas City’s pass rush has been underperforming for much of the season, but that changed in a big way in its last game against the rival Raiders. Our Chiefs blog takes a look at what changed and why it worked.
- Melvin Ingram and Joey Bosa make an intimidating pair, which is why the pressure will be on for the Chiefs offensive line.
The Chargers had five sacks on the Chiefs in their Week 3 matchup. It wasn’t a game where the Chiefs were losing and in obvious passing situations all game either. The Chargers got after them but the Chiefs were still able to put up 24 points.
According to PFF, Alex Smith was pressured in the last Chargers game five times and he was sacked all five times. When Alex had a clean pocket, he went 16/21 for 153 yards and two touchdowns.
- In addition to those defensive standouts, Chargers wide receiver Keenan Allen remains one of the most consistent and scary players for opposing defenses. If the Chiefs can stop him, they’ll be the first team to do it in several weeks.
Chargers vs. Chiefs predictions:
Of the eight experts picking for SB Nation in Week 15, six of them think the Chargers will win it. That leaves two picking the Chiefs, while the OddsShark computer is going with Los Angeles.
