The Super Bowl has taken over Houston, and a week of nonstop events leading up to the three-hour or so main event on Sunday have swarmed the city.
Super Bowl 2017 weekend schedule for Falcons vs. Patriots: Houston hosting concerts, Antonio Brown’s charity hoops game
A mix of food, music, and entertainment gear Houston up for the Super Bowl.

In the area, local clubs will participate in youth flag football games, and school-aged children can do football-themed activities at Play Live with Playworks on Friday and Saturday afternoon.
Taste of the NFL on Saturday night at the University of Houston will provide ticket holders with samples from more than 32 restaurants from each NFL city. Each station is greeted by a current or former NFL player to take photos with.
Several other late-night events will fill up the city streets leading to Sunday’s main event, including a Bruno Mars concert on Friday night. Before that, you might want to catch Antonio Brown’s Celebrity Super Slam. The charity celebrity basketball game will include DJ Khaled and Snoop Dogg, along with current and former professional athletes: Tracy McGrady, Jarvis Landry, LeSean McCoy, Dee Gordon, Samari Rolle, and Roy Williams.
This weekend will wrap up the nine-day fan festival known as Super Bowl Live in downtown Houston. The free festival offers music, food, games, and the main attraction: Future Flight. The virtual reality adventure includes a 90-foot drop tower that simulates a trip to Mars.
The event spreads about 13 football fields long (750,000 square feet), and stocked with food trucks and live entertainment — this is the place to be just days before one of the biggest sporting events of the year. Musicians at the event include Leon Bridges, Shakey Graves, and Robert Ellis on Friday and ZZ Top, Gary Clark Jr., and the Suffers on Saturday.
